Outsidepride Banana Velutina SeedsMusa veluntina is a small hardy Banana that makes a wonderful, exotic addition to the landscape. With a cinnamon scent, exotic leaves, and incredible colors, this 3 foot tall tree will make a stunning presence. It produces flower stalks in late summer and soon there are clusters of small, pink bananas.

Musa veluntina is grown for its display rather than for edible fruit. It is recommended to scarify the seeds by roughening with sandpaper and then soaking the seed in tepid water overnight before sowing. The seed should be placed ΒΌ inch below the surface, and the soil should be specifically for cultivating and kept damp until germination occurs. Glass or plastic can be placed on top of the container to ensure that the soil does not dry out. Keep a constant temperature of 80F. Once established, it will be winter hardy, but for the first winter mulch around the trunk or bring into the greenhouse.
